Roads and Transport Authority

With a vision of safe and smooth transport for all, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is responsible for planning and executing transport and traffic projects in Dubai, preparing legislation and strategic plans, developing other integrated solutions of road system and marine network that are safe and in line with the city's economic development plans and the highest international standards.

Due to its massive role in the development of infrastructure and transportation for Dubai, RTA administers itself through four agencies: Traffic & Roads,Rail, Public Transport, Traffic & Roads, Dubai Taxi & Licensing Agency.

Challenge

Consider how manned and unmanned drones can be used to improve policing across private property and public areas. Explore the prediction of crimes prior to them occurring - physical or digital. Develop systems that synchronize public cameras and utilise facial recognition to identify wanted individuals based on current and past data.
Dubai Police

Dubai Police uses the highest and the most precise measures of operation in performing its duties, functions, and powers, through the institutional performance indicators and the practice of the strategic planning, efficiently managing human and financial resources, and through simplifying procedures, strengthen community partnership, innovative initiatives, respect of personal excellence, and teamwork.

Dubai Police is an integral part of the United Arab Emirates Police Force. Its mission is to improve the quality of life, in the Country, by operating in accordance with the constitutional rights to enforce the law and maintain security and safety of the community and of everyone living in the Country.

Challenge

Develop innovative solutions to achieve 50% increase in green building efficiency, implement 3D printing technologies in 25% of Dubai buildings, ensure safety and quality of all imported consumer and food products before they enter Dubai, and secure 75% reduction in general waste.
Dubai Municipality

Dubai Municipality provides municipal services to a diverse population in Dubai. Its work includes urban planning and supervision of construction, environmental protection and improvement, conservation of public parks, regulating and ensuring international quality standards in construction and building materials, food & consumable items, professional services in laboratory certification and accreditation.

The Municipality has the vision of "creating an excellent city that provides the essence of success and comfort of living." Dubai Municipality is also instrumental in maintaining the architectural heritage of the emirate through many projects that aimed at reviving and maintaining cultural landmarks of Dubai. Dubai Municipality was the proud winner of the 2006 Public Services Award from the United Nations. It has also won many regional awards including the Arab eContent 2005 Award.

Challenge

Improve practice efficiencies, patient health outcomes and patient self-management of chronic disease by a factor of 10 through the use of digital technologies.
Dubai Health Authority

The DHA's mission is to ensure access to health services, maintain and improve the quality of these services, improve the health status of nationals, residents and visitors and oversee a dynamic, efficient and innovative health sector.

In addition to overseeing the health sector for the Emirate of Dubai, the DHA also focuses on providing services through DHA healthcare facilities including hospitals (Latifa, Dubai, Rashid and Hatta), specialty centres (e.g. the Dubai Diabetes Center) and DHA primary health centres spread throughout the Emirate of Dubai.

The main pillars of service delivery at DHA health facilities are quality, efficiency, patients and staff. It is our aim to maintain and improve the quality and efficiency of DHA health services. An important aspect of the service delivery strategy is to focus on patients, their needs and satisfaction as well as attract, retain, nurture and support outstanding staff.

Develop 21st century assessment system that recognises micro-credentials, in particular across STEAM subjects and Arabic. Prototype social-emotional learning solutions that promote student wellbeing. Explore innovative data architectures to support education providers and administrators.
Knowledge And Human Development Authority

The objective of Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) is to ensure the continuous development of the education sector and to improve the quality and outcomes of education on all fronts and at all stages.

KHDA aims to develop all knowledge and human resource sectors in the Emirate of Dubai and bring them on par with international standards and prevalent best practices. It also aims to tailor the educational system to accommodate the requirements of the job market.

Challenge

Deploy intelligent methods, technologies and business models across all our business areas and processes, which enable us to proactively and autonomously predict stakeholder (customers, employees, business partners) current and future needs, and drive the evolution of the hospitality, real estate and entertainment sectors.

Explore and demonstrate new technologies that can transform a utility provider's traditional business model of generating, transmitting and distributing water and electricity.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority

DEWA has made considerable achievements, ranking it as one of the best utilities in the world. DEWA provide services today to more than 730,000 customers with a satisfaction rate that reached more than 94.4%.

DEWA has achieved competitive results, surpassing leading European and American companies by reducing losses in power transmission and distribution networks to 3.26%, compared to 6-7% in Europe and the USA. Water network losses decreased to 9%, compared to 15% in North America, achieving global results in reducing water losses.

Challenge

Develop security systems that have 100% biometric identifying capabilities and decrease processing time during passport control. This can be through the introduction of AI or implementing facilitating software to decrease the need for human intervention. Introduce innovative solutions to achieve 50% reduction of illegal residencies and incorporate an international standards of seamless payment process.
General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigner's Affairs Dubai (DNRD) is a department that effectively works on achieving its vision of "Have the United Arab Emirates as one of the most secure and safest countries in the world, through its commitment in implementing foreign entry and residency laws. GDRFA was one of the pioneers in using various Services aimed at speeding up and facilitating transactions so that customers' time and effort are saved, while reducing overcrowding at the DNRD counters. DNRD Services has achieved great progress during the last few years, with customers preferring to use such services, especially as several technical developments have also taken place.

Challenge

Consider how new technologies can improve customer service through different channels, from traditional (call center, IVR, retail) to digital (web, app). Support and improve customer journeys from product discovery to purchase to customer support. Increase adoption of digital customer interfaces by a factor of 5, and reduce operational expenditure by 50%.
DU

du is a vibrant and multiple award-winning telecommunications service provider serving over 8 million individual customers with its mobile, fixedline, broadband internet, and Home services over its 4G LTE network. du also caters to over 80,000 UAE businesses with its vast range of ICT and managed services. Since its launch in 2007, du has many UAE firsts to its credit, including introduction of Pay by the Second® billing system, IPTV and self-service portal.

du is passionate about the use of innovative technology to continue to improve the overall customer experience at all customer interfaces. Our call centers are distributed around the world speaking various languages to support the metropolitan mix of cultures in the UAE. Our shops cater to our customers all over the UAE through a unique retail experience. We believe that through the use of innovative technologies such as self care apps and websites we have managed to digitize a lot of the customer facing interactions. The challenge is to improve the adoption rate of new digital interfaces and reduce classical operating expenditures

Challenge

DED aims to achieve quantitative and qualitative improvements in the ease of doing business, and harness smart technologies to consolidate government services for the benefit of a happier investor. A number of measures are being introduced to reduce commercial registration and licensing procedures in Dubai by 60% through saving time spent on searching for requirements by 80%, and also by cutting transaction time in half and human interaction by 90%.
Department of Economic Development

The Department of Economic Development (DED) is the government body entrusted to set and drive the economic agenda of the emirate of Dubai, UAE. DED supports the structural transformation of Dubai into a diversified, innovative service-based economy that aims to improve the business environment and accelerate productivity growth.

DED and its agencies develop economic plans and policies, identify and support the growth of strategic sectors, and provide services to domestic and international investors and businesses.

Challenge

Reduce patients emergency room (ER) visits in the UAE due to life threatening situations linked to chronic diseases by 30% over the next 10 years through predictive healthcare management enabled by technologies such as IoT, wearables, telemedicine, cloud, artificial intelligence, big data & analytics.
