The Dubai Future Accelerators (DFA) program received an unprecedented number of submissions to their new “Future Accelerators” program, which begins September 12th. Over 2,200 companies from 73 countries, on all 7 continents, applied to be a part of the first cycle of the program; including one submission from scientists in Antarctica!
Applications poured in from around the world in a space of less than a month, marking the Future Accelerators as one of the fastest growing programs in the world. With less than 35 spots, the application to acceptance ratio will be less than 2%. It has one of the highest and fastest submissions rates of any similar program ever.
The DFA is an intensive public-private sector program that pairs top companies and cutting-edge entrepreneurs with leading government departments to co-create breakthrough solutions for the public good. Those who make it through the rigorous process will be flown to Dubai to test their technologies over a 12-week program, working in one of the most dynamic environments to address seven key civic challenges.
H.E. Saif Al Aleeli, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, emphasized that “the Dubai Future Accelerators are helping transform the city of Dubai into a global test bed for leading ideas and technologies. The chosen applicants will be working closely with seven government departments, each of whom is committed to tackling the challenges of the 21st century and taking advantage of the opportunities it presents.”
The goal is to first test, then scale these technologies across the city and region where possible, marking Dubai as an emerging center of global innovation. Winners will be announced shortly at the commencement of the program.
